Submit and publish a project

In accordance with editorial procedure, works submitted for publication are subject to preliminary evaluation by the Editorial Board in the case of collections, or by the Editorial Committee in the case of the journal Mélanges.

The evaluation of these unpublished editorial projects, which have not been submitted to other publishing houses, is based on criteria of relevance, originality, scientific rigor, contribution to knowledge, scientific influence, technical feasibility, methodological quality, and writing quality.

Publish a project

Once the editorial project has been accepted, the complete file is submitted to a double-blind peer review process. After the author/scientific editor has taken the experts' recommendations into account, the final manuscript is entered into the publication schedule. A publishing contract or copyright transfer agreement is then signed between Casa de Velázquez and the author/scientific editor.

The order in which final manuscripts, revised after review and compliant with editorial standards, are processed is determined by their date of receipt, after agreement in principle on the procedure.

The publications coordinator is the contact person for the author or scientific editor(s). Once the final manuscript is being processed, the author/scientific editor will correspond with the publishing secretariat.
