Our collections

The publications of Casa de Velázquez are divided into five distinct collections reflecting the diversity of editorial formats—monographs, collective works, critical texts, syntheses, artistic creations—and share a common ambition: to offer a coherent, rigorous, and diverse dissemination of research in the humanities and social sciences.

Bibliothèque de la Casa de Velázquez

The Bibliothèque de la Casa de Velázquez (BCV) is the institution's reference collection and brings together monographs that are, for the most part, the result of the reworking of doctoral theses by former scientific members, a requirement that is no longer necessary for publication in this collection. In keeping with the academic standards that characterize the institution, this collection aims to disseminate high-level work and share knowledge in the field of humanities and social sciences.

Artis Amore

The Artis Amore (AA) collection offers specialized publications in the field of artistic creation in a variety of innovative formats, focusing in particular on the dialogue between research and creation. Its name refers to the motto Artis amore junctam nulla vis solvet amicitiam (Nothing can break the bonds of friendship forged by the love of art) featured on the medal created by Catalan artist Mariano Benlliure for the inauguration of the Casa de Velázquez in 1928.
